HOM NGUYEN, CHEVALIER DE L’ORDRE NATIONAL DU MÉRITE

It is in the intimacy of the Hotel de Castries (Ministry of Housing and Territorial Equality) that Hom Nguyen received the insignia of Chevalier de l’ordre national du Mérite on Thursday, March 17, 2022. A highly symbolic place for the artist from a working-class neighborhood.   

“Thank you for being this generous and inspiring man, a portrait of France,” said Minister Nadia Hai who solemnly evoked the exemplary career and immense resilience of Hom Nguyen. Honest and inspiring, he inspires French youth to undertake, create and believe in their dreams.

As a child, his mother used to tell him “My son, always be sincere, you must not be afraid to show the person you are. Be curious and open up“. Words that have guided him throughout this journey.
