MAYA’ THE NEW COLLECTION BY STEFANO CURTO
Lapidary, goldsmith, physicist or artist, Stefano Curto has always been drawn to nature, which he considers divine.
In southern Egypt, water is pronounced ‘MAYA‘. In the arid desert, the creative power that springs from every little source is obvious: it gives life to all organic matter.
The artist drew inspiration from water and light for his new triptych. The successive sequences of colors symbolize the creation that follows.
“These sequences manifested themselves to me at a precise moment: when I left the desert after a long stay in the Siwa oasis. It’s a geometric artwork: everything converges from the center, which seems to sink or rise in front of the viewer. I believe there is an order to everything in this universe. Expressing it in this way is profound and draws on my faith and devotion to the beauty of creation“ – confides Stefano Curto
