ANTOINE DUFILHO
Biography
Between the names Dufilho and Bugatti, there is an almost palpable link, woven by the passion of several men … Antoine Dufilho is a French sculptor. As a child, he was introduced to the visual arts by his great-uncle Jacques, an actor, artist and Bugatti collector. After graduating from the Lille School of Architecture and Landscape Design, he developed a new approach to sculpture.
Self-taught, he experimented with different moulding and welding techniques to gradually build up his artistic aesthetic. The artist freed himself from the figurative and turned his attention to the abstract, favouring shapes, aesthetics and creativity.
Like a sportsman, Antoine Dufilho is always looking for new challenges. Articulating his art around the notion of speed, he offers a kinetic vision of a static object. His work consists of creating an alternation of symmetry and asymmetry, breaking down forms into successive layers. This sequenced representation, combined with the movements of the spectators, creates an impressive optical illusion.
