A RED SCULPTURE IN THE PINK CITY!

To mark the passage of the Olympic flame through Toulouse, street-artist James Colomina installed “THE RING FISHER” on the night of May 16-17, representing a young man sitting on the edge of a roof, catching the red (Colomina) Olympic ring with his fishing rod.

“This installation aims to highlight the athletes taking part in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games under a neutral banner, and to underline the event for bringing nations together and unifying them through sport and its values” – confides the artist

This sculpture is also a nod to history: this is the 3rd time Paris has hosted the Olympic Games. The last time was in 1924, and the very first in 1900, at the same time as the Universal Exhibition. “For the record, fishing was once at the Olympic Games in 1900,” James Colomina reminds us.
