HE DID IT AGAIN … IN BRISTOL !

At the end of September, street artist James Colomina placed several new works in his signature red on the streets of Bristol.

On Turbo Island, a concrete area on the corner of Stokes Croft (a central district known for its alternative and artistic atmosphere), the street artist installed a child wearing a dunce’s cap, symbolizing stigmatized minorities.

This installation takes on even greater significance, given that the island is to be auctioned off to become a temple of (over)consumption. Through this creation, James Colomina questions the value we place on certain spaces and those who frequent them, while also questioning how society can ignore these realities.

By installing a teddy bear swing on the Gaol Ferry bridge, the sculptor invites us to reconnect with the carefreeness, purity and humanity of our childhood.
