AL FRENO

Biography

AL FRENO

Al Freno, born in Cambrai in 1978, was fascinated by drawing from an early age, finding his first sources of inspiration in surrealist masters such as Salvador Dalí and Pablo Picasso. Initially studying architecture, he was irresistibly drawn to the play of light and shadow, which awakened in him a unique artistic sensibility. He then turned to the Fine Arts, allowing his talent to blossom in an explosion of colour and light.

Al Freno’s minimalist art is an invitation to daydream. His works, imbued with vibrant colours and influenced by his many travels, capture a tranquillity that contrasts with the hustle and bustle of the modern world. In his ‘Here Comes the Sun’ series, the artist takes us on a journey from the East Coast to the West Coast, evoking scenes of palm-fringed beaches and cactus groves, all bathed in a subtly retro 50s atmosphere, where each scene is a musical nod to the classics of the era.

Through his creations, Al Freno encourages us to believe in our dreams. With his architecturally inspired works, the artist makes us aware that beauty surrounds us.
