VITTORIO IAVAZZO
Biography
Vittorio Iavazzo, born in 1991 in Naples, has had a passion for drawing since childhood. In 2010, he joined the Naples Academy of Fine Arts, graduating in 2016 with a degree in graphic arts and illustration.
The artist draws on the mythological imagination to transcend rationality and explore the essence of human emotions. His highly metaphorical works capture the delicate balance between aspiring to freedom and confronting life’s challenges. In constant dialogue with the classical world, they reflect the individual’s struggle to overcome social constraints and find momentum towards freedom.
Inspired by ancient art and Italian cultural heritage, Vittorio Iavazzo reinvents the art of papier-mâché by combining contemporary and natural techniques, such as the use of coffee or oxides. This approach lends an ecological dimension to his creations, while offering a subtle reflection on temporality and ephemeral beauty.
