Biography
Chris Carolina is an artist from Brittany, born in Rennes in 1972. As a child, he developed a passion for painting and took extracurricular courses at the local Beaux-Arts, focusing on watercolor and oil painting. Later, he moved to Paris, where his artistic activity took a new direction: fashion photography. He also tried his hand at cinema, making short films and a medium-length feature.
A painter and fashion photographer, Chris Carolina’s work is a blend of genres and styles, between abstraction and figuration. In his quest for purity, love and sincerity, he places the Woman at the center of his reflections, his creations and his motivation. The result is a lively, aesthetic and harmonious painting, the fruit of an overflowing and intoxicating passion.
Inspired by his stay in New York, Chris Carolina has given birth to the world of “Elegantes”: refined women evolving in interior settings imbued with Hitchcockian ambiences. These figures, who seem to embody icons of 50s cinema, hide their emotions, thoughts and dreams behind sunglasses. They embody a strong, independent femininity, defying a patriarchal society with elegance and mystery.
