TRIBUTE TO CARLOS CRUZ-DIEZ

Five years ago, Carlos Cruz-Diez, master of kinetic art, passed away…

His imprint will remain forever engraved on the artistic landscape. His work is entirely devoted to highlighting color as an ephemeral, autonomous phenomenon. A true magician, the artist has created geometric assemblages of color and light, using strips of plastic or metal that reflect differently depending on the viewer’s position. Through his research, Carlos Cruz-Diez has never ceased to demonstrate that the more works of art engage the viewer’s nervous system, the more egalitarian they are, since perception of the work requires no prior knowledge or culture.

The Maestro will always be present in the hearts of the Bartoux family and in our galleries through his fascinating masterpieces. We warmly thank his family and the Cruz-Diez studio for their trust over the years.
